Job Summary: As the Senior Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the Mine Planning and Technical department, providing accurate data capture, validation, analysis, and reporting on volumes of all mining works and stockpiles. Your primary goal is to ensure that the survey function operates efficiently and aligns with safety, health, environment, and sustainable development objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety and Risk Management:
   • Assess risks for all tasks and ensure proper control measures are implemented.
   • Report incidents and ensure timely investigation and corrective actions.
2. Survey Procedures and Planning:
   • Contribute to the development of survey procedures and tools for the Obuasi Mine’s redevelopment.
   • Develop and communicate a quarterly plan for the budgeted year, identifying survey priorities and milestones.
3. Budget Management:
   • Contribute to the development of the annual cost center budget to achieve the required survey outputs.
   • Manage the delivery of work by the Survey function within approved budget targets and specified timeframes.
4. Safety Leadership and Continuous Improvement:
   • Demonstrate safety leadership and improve the culture within the team and peers.
   • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the Survey function.

Qualifications and Experience: To be eligible for the position of Senior Surveyor, you must have the following qualifications and experience:

1. BSc. in Geodetic/Geomatic Engineering.
2. Five (5) years of proven experience in mine surveying in either an underground or open pit mining environment, with at least two years at a senior supervisory level within a planning/technical department.

Technical Competencies: The ideal candidate should possess the following technical competencies:

1. Experience in Survey functional Management.
2. Familiarity with Survey Software.
3. Understanding of good survey practices, management, and support systems.
4. Ability to manage performance based on data interpretation and drive operational improvements.
