As a Business Support Assistant (Communications) at WFP Ghana, you will work under the guidance of the Communications Assistant (Digital and Multimedia) and report to the Partnerships and Communications Officer. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of administrative and creative tasks to support effective communication initiatives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on administrative requests of the Partnerships and Communications Unit.
  • Process and manage routine administrative and financial tasks, ensuring effective resource management.
  • Maintain and organize records and databases for easy access and retrieval of information.
  • Provide timely and accurate guidance by responding to standard queries.
  • Capture high-quality photographs for publications, traditional and social media, and WFP HQ photo bank.
  • Design publications, electronic flyers, infographics, and other graphic materials in line with WFP’s branding guidelines.
  • Create short videos for social media and internal communications.
  • Assist in the production of documentaries, including storyboarding, interviewing, videoing, and post-production.
  • Utilize online platforms such as Trello Board, Airtable, and the multimedia hub to manage digital assets.
  • Develop innovative strategies to increase the visibility of WFP’s work to targeted audiences.
  • Create social media messages and campaigns aligned with specific objectives.
  • Draft articles and stories highlighting WFP’s impact and initiatives.
  • Monitor traditional and social media, reporting relevant information to senior staff for effective communication strategies.

Qualification and Desired Experiences:

To be considered for this role, you should possess a minimum of a first degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Motion Picture Photography, or a related field. Additionally, the following qualifications and experiences are desired:

  • At least five years of progressive work experience in Communications or Motion Picture Photography.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, proactiveness, and initiative to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Fluency in both oral and written English language.
