Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), the leading anti-corruption Civil Society Organization in Ghana and the Ghana Chapter of Transparency International, is currently conducting a search for an Executive Director job in Ghana.

Job Summary:

The position of Executive Director requires an individual with a deep understanding and knowledge of governance, leadership, and anti-corruption issues. The role involves coalition building, research and policy advocacy, partnership development, and fundraising to promote transparency and accountability at the national, regional, and global levels. The Executive Director serves as the administrative head of the GII Secretariat and reports to the GII Board.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Executive Director will have the following responsibilities:

  • Developing policies and strategies to shape and influence national, international, and multinational policies related to corruption and development agendas.
  • Building partnerships and collaborating with institutions to address corruption and its negative impact on people’s well-being.
  • Representing GII in forums and establishing partnerships to advance the organization’s mandate and promote transparency and accountability.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships and influencing policy decisions by the Government and other key stakeholders.
  • Efficiently and effectively managing human and material resources of GII.
  • Developing and implementing fundraising strategies to mobilize resources for programs and administration.
  • Serving as Secretary to the Board of Directors and ensuring GII fulfills its legal obligations.

Qualification Required & Experience:

Applicants for the Executive Director position should meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Law, Governance, International Development, Social and Management Sciences, or Media.
  • Continuous working experience in senior management/leadership positions, preferably with at least five years in a governance-related Civil Society Organization.
  • Strong background in transparency and anti-corruption issues.
  • Proven experience in engaging with and influencing government, policy institutions, and other key players in governance policies and legislation.
  • Strong executive-level financial management experience, including fundraising and understanding financial reports.

Skills and Abilities:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of the national and global development agenda and the role of anti-corruption and good governance in that agenda.
  • Networking abilities, especially with local and national Civil Society Organizations, bilateral and multilateral institutions, including regional and sub-regional groups.
  • Ability to lead, engage, and collaborate with individuals from various disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement programs designed to influence and persuade in a non-confrontational manner.
  • Strong analytical, critical decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to raise funds for civil society programs and administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally to the organization.
  • Reputation for high ethical standards and integrity.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy.
