Job Summary: The Director of Internal Audit will be responsible for overseeing the Internal Audit Directorate of the University. In accordance with the Internal Audit Agency Act, 2003 (Act 658) and standards provided by the Agency, you will conduct regular internal audits. Administrative reporting will be to the Vice-Chancellor, while functional collaboration will be with the Audit Committee in accordance with the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 12).

Qualifications and Experience: To be eligible for the position of Director of Internal Audit, you must meet the following qualifications and experience:

1. Possess both a professional qualification and a relevant postgraduate degree.
2. Be a member of any relevant professional Accounting and/Finance body, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
3. Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as Principal Internal Auditor/Deputy Internal Auditor in a University or analogous institution OR a minimum of fifteen (15) years’ post-professional qualification experience in a university, reputable Auditing/Accounting Firm, industry, commerce, or public service by July 31, 2023.

The position may be subject to renewal for another term of up to 5 years, but the renewal cannot extend beyond the compulsory statutory retirement age of SIXTY (60) years. The successful applicant must be able to serve the full term of 5 years before reaching the retirement age of 60 years.
