As the Head of Treasury Operations, you will play a vital role in efficiently managing the company’s cash flow, banking relationships, and debt portfolio. Job Summary: As the Head of Treasury Operations, you will report to the Director of Treasury and be responsible for managing the company’s cash flow, banking activities, debt financing, and risk management. Your role will also involve providing strategic insight into industry practices, financial markets, and the macroeconomic environment for cash management. Additionally, you will improve the internal control environment, provide operational support in securing financing, and oversee a team of treasury analysts and payment officers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cash Flow and Cash Planning:
   • Forecast and manage the company’s cash position in line with policy and control requirements.
   • Develop tools to monitor variances and report on cash flow and explanations for variances.
   • Ensure accuracy in reporting on Ghana Treasury and monitor cash book KPIs.
2. Banking Activities:
   • Oversee banks’ daily operations, facility working, and operational issues.
   • Lead cost optimization projects, including the automation of treasury processes.
   • Forecast and monitor foreign exchange/currency exposures and recommend risk management strategies.
   • Negotiate fee structures and services with banks.
   • Supervise bank transactions processing, including direct debits, returned cheques, and more.
3. Debt Financing and Monitoring:
   • Provide necessary documentation for loan/facilities execution and disbursement.
   • Manage the loan/facilities book, ensuring compliance, accurate accounting, and reporting.
   • Provide variance explanations for interest expenses.
4. Cost Optimization:
   • Develop tools, processes, and projects to optimize all costs, including finance costs.
   • Research and develop economic reports on financial markets and the macroeconomic environment.
   • Strengthen internal controls related to cash management.
5. Payment Planning:
   • Collaborate with the Payables team to implement an effective payment process aligned with business strategy.
6. Miscellaneous/Risk Management:
   • Train Treasury officers for excellence in Treasury functions.
   • Adhere to internal control procedures related to Treasury operations.
   • Handle other duties as assigned by the Treasury Director.

Qualifications and Experience: To be eligible for the position of Head of Treasury Operations, you must have the following qualifications and experience:

1. A minimum of a First Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
2. Professional qualification such as ACCA/ACCE/CA/CIMA.
3. Postgraduate degree in Finance or Economics is an added advantage.
4. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in corporate treasury functions, preferably with exposure to multinational companies.
5. Strong knowledge of audit processing, financial concepts, macroeconomics, and financial markets.
