Job Summary:

As a QHSE Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors while coordinating and supervising day-to-day safety activities. You will play a crucial role in maintaining HSE standards and efficiently managing the administration of the facilities. The goal is to achieve continuous improvement in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment while fostering high awareness of QHSE among all staff members.

Job Description/Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of corporate HSE policies to support the company’s HSE management system.
  • Implement and monitor Quality, Occupational Health, and Safety Policy, Programs, and Procedures.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and company rules and requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of QMS and HSE MS requirements and address related issues.
  • Regularly review and update HSE policies to maintain their effectiveness and relevance.
  • Conduct and manage Risk Assessments, Hazard Assessments, and HAZOPS.
  • Develop effective Emergency Response Plans.
  • Perform incident investigations and reporting, and oversee the implementation of preventive and corrective actions for accidents to ensure adherence to Company Procedure for Incident management.
  • Participate in regular QHSE meetings with clients and subcontractors HSE forum, engaging in discussions on safety standards, concerns, and hazards management.
  • Promptly respond to fires and other emergencies on or around company property, offices, and vehicles.

HSEQ Manager Role:

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports on activities and inspections as required.
  • Ensure all relevant safety documentation and permits are up to date and accessible.
  • Actively promote the reporting of safety observations and engage in the same practice.
  • Arrange for Occupational Health and Safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants when necessary.
  • Serve as the liaison with related industries and regulating agencies on health, safety, and environment matters.
  • Develop and deliver suitable safety training for staff of the company.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, demonstrating a broad understanding of QHSE management (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015), or
  • Minimum of an HND in a related field with at least 4 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, showcasing a practical understanding of QHSE management systems (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015).
  • Valid Driving license is required.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as IOSH and / NEBOSH IGC are a must.
  • Proficient knowledge of international safety legislation, codes of practice, etc., audit/inspection techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong expertise in HSE MS and risk management processes.
  • Experience in fleet or transport management will be an added advantage.

Competencies Required:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.
  • Previous experience in a large multinational taskforce environment.
  • Strong negotiation ability to convince supervisors and managers to implement safety standards.
  • Diplomacy and patience to secure cooperation from all stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to comprehend complex ideas and convey them accurately.
  • Inquisitive with attention to detail and competence in conducting audits.
  • Ability to drive and conduct effective training and presentations.
